Arrived in Brisban after a short 2 hour flight Monday morning. Really great Holiday Inn hotel right in the centre by the train station (Thank you to Kay for helping us book this!). Having spent the last 10 days in the van this place was like heaven so nice to have a proper bed and shower! We didn't have long in Brisbane so have summarised each day as follows...

The warmth in Queensland was much more humid and it was tough to walk far without needing to re-hydrate. Luckily we found some great bars on the riverside and the stroll from the hotel was no problem. Brisbane is a very nice place much quieter than the other cities we'd seen but also full of loads of great restaurants and pubs.

That evening we saw on the news that Melbourne had it hottest day ever at 43 degrees - very glad we got out of there when we did!

Day 2 in Brisbane was more relaxed and we just chilled out in the city. Did quite an ambituos river walk in the afternoon though but spoilt ourselves in the evening with a super fish meal in Brisbanes number 1 fish restaurant. yum yum!

The final day in Brisbane was an early start 7am to catch a train north to the Australia Zoo - former home of Steve Irwin the crocodille hunter! Very touristy of course but well worth the trip saw all the famous Aussie wildlife and got to pat a Koala and feed some Wallabies. Brilliant day out!
