Just around an hour drive from Randwick, where James and Nav live, is Featherdale Wildlife park. From the outside it looks more like a residential area rather than home to nearly every native Australian animal. There are so many nice animals in the park and you can feed and pet some of them. Due to the new law you cannot hold a Koala anymore but that is probably a good thing for the poor Koalas. You can still pet them and we both agree they are the cutest animals we've ever seen. They are so fluffy and clean (apparently a lot different to the ones in the wild). We got to feed the Wallabies, Kangaroos and Emus, although James was the only one brave enough to hold onto the food while the Emus pecked. Scary birds!
We got to see dingos, Tasmanian devils, wombats, snakes, birds of prey, a saltwater crocodile, fruit bats, echidnas, cockatoos and lots lots more.
Then we left for the Blue Mountains. With very little time before sunset, we decided to take the cable car down into the gorge, take a short walk through the rain forest and get worlds steepest incline railway back up. A fantastic way to see the scenery and kind of scary looking huge drop. Much better than a roller coaster!
