...so our adventure in Laos is already over. Very short indeed, less than we were planning, but it worked out perfectly anyway. We avoided the smoke and got to take the slow boat on its first day re-opening, very lucky.
In Vientiane now, not exactly exciting compared to what we saw so far in Laos. More like a sort of European look alike city, with wats and monks going around. ;)
We visited the Buddha Park yesterday, and that was cool. A not too big field covered in big stone statues of Buddha and other multi-arm gods. Really particular. A sort of Laos Bomarzo, with mouthed grotto and all. We got the local bus to get there, and that was adventurous, mostly because it was pretty hard to figure out which bus to take. Everybody was giving us different indication, just using their hands! But we did it and was really cool. The only "falangs" (foreigners) in the bus. A small child couldn't stop crying looking at Ian, he didn't want to get on the bus and his dad decided to take the next one! Poor Ian, he felt really bad and started considering to shave...
Looking forward to go to Vietnam now in a few hours!

Ah,ah,ah! really funny! Poor child: blond hair, blue eyes, white skin and long, fair beard... such a monster! Poor Ian, so gently and nice!
Hi guys, hope you're taking loads of pictures. Ian your beard must be huge by now :) By the way... Dublin is celebrating the start of summer time by snowing can you believe it!!
Ian, dude, you need a shave. When kids think you more frightening than "multi-arm gods" its time to think about it. Hope you guys having a good time. J
