Dawn's trip last year to Liberia was life changing.  Never before had I witnessed such dire need and yet such hope in the human spirit.  One little girl, Mercy who is now 15 years old, especially touched my heart.  Her enthusiasm for life amid such poverty continues to be an inspiration to me. We are returning to Liberia next week to bring hope and aid to these children.

Holly Durham and I are going to take socks, underwear, medicines and other basic needs we have collected here but will also need to purchase rice, water, pencils and notebooks and provide a meal to the two orphanages we will visit.

Over a decade of civil war devastated Liberia, leaving thousands of children without parents and fending for themselves.  Those who survived the civil war have no running water, electricity, job opportunities, or adequate health care.  Their future is unstable but we can make a difference for these children trapped in poverty and uncertainty.  Hope for a future begins with us helping Liberians to embrace and rebuild their country and this starts with the children.
