Anthony & I decided on another coach tour after our successful Nun's Valley venture. This time, we chose the full day tour of the "West" which included the quaint fishing village of Camara da Lobos, the spectacular view from Cabo Girao
' target="">, the idyllic village of Ribeira Brava, up into the mountains to Encumeada (1007m) before descending into the sea resort town of Porto Moniz for a lovely 3-course meal featuring Espanada (Scabbard Fish). Following Porto Moniz, we visited the sights around Seixal that included the "Bridal Veil" waterfall. Then, finally a visit to Sao Vicente and the "Grutas" (Caves) which was an interesting walk through a Lava tube. Anthony & I have visited several caves around the world, but this was a very authentic lava tube (not much excavation, but more natural).
It was a good tour, relaxing, interesting and all that jazz - but now it is time to visit the interior beauty of Madeira - we're ready for it!
