Our first exposure to bumper-to-bumper traffic was surely Kinsale. Perfect May weather brought throngs to this ancient harbour. Whether we were heading east or west we had to drive through the town not that we minded in the least, for it provided lots of opportunity to master the driving on the left in extremely heavy traffic.
You are in for a special treat taking in Ireland's horse racing. We were treated to a spectaular warm day and horse racing like no other we've seen. First, there are the steeples, then open farmer's fields and finally mutual betting under umbrella's. I bet on an O'Connor pony out of respect for my ancestral name. Obviously, the O'Connor's did not breed winner's! Anyway, it didn't break the bank! and we managed to leave with our purses pretty well in tact.
