LADYBOWER,
About 40 mins from Sheffield City Centre you enter a different worls. you are in the rolling countryside of the Peak District. and my home town is a small village on the outskirts of Sheffield.

The reservoir is found just up the road from where i used to live In the beautifull Derweant valley. It is the lowest of the Peak districts three reservoirs (the other two are the Howden and Derwent Reservoirs).

Ladybower Reservoir was completed shortly after the end of World War II, when it was opened by His Majesty King George VI and his wife Queen Elizabeth,

It's purpose was to supply drinking water to the north of England and the midlands. However, It is most famously known for being the place where they tested the bouncing bomb and it were "Dambusters" was filmed.

With this on your doorstep and waking up to beautifull hills and rolling landscapes everyday who wouldn't be proud to be a Sheffield / Yorkshire lass.

here is a photo of a sunset that I took at Xmas 2001 from my front garden. It is probably one of my favourite all time pictures and i haven't touched it up or played about with the colour at all..
