A surprise this weekend. Met Sonie Thomas, a colleague of mine from
Headstrong, Bangalore, in Sainsbury, South Kensington, London, on
friday, shopping.
We chatted a lot and made a quick plan to have some thrill on the weekend.
Guess where we went.. to get thrown, dropped, twirled, whizzed, hung, drenched.. oh my god.. what a day..
On
satuday, we went to Thorpe Park, a theme park, about 30 mins from
London.. boarding on a SouthWest Railway Train at Waterloo Tube Station.
The
park was to be open from 10AM to 5PM... 7 hours.. and we planned about 8
rides during the day, an average of one per hour. But we were shocked
when we saw the crowd that had come to the park. Seemed like no one
stays home during
weekends.. actually they don't..
We spent about 75 mins waiting
for the first ride, Colossus, with the roller coaster whizzing on top
of us, with the screams piercing our ears. The other rides were about an
hour's wait on an average.. and we could cover 5 rides viz., Colossus,
Nemesis, Detonator, Stealth and Tidal Wave.
Colossus - Roller coaster with lots of twists and twirls..
Nemesis - Seated with our legs hanging, the tracks on top of us.. flying all over the place..
Detonator - A 100 foot drop.. for a few seconds.. we actually flew.. did not feel the seat beneath us..
Stealth - 0 to 80 Kmph in 2 seconds.. and a steep climb and a 90 degree drop..
Tidal
Wave - A drop into a swimming pool, followed by a wave, two storeys
high, falling on us with such force and drenching us to the bones..
There is nothing much to talk about these roller coasters. Just the rush to be felt. Will let the pics and the videos talk for
themselves..

An adrenaline rush.. a memory to cherish.. an experience to be experienced again..
