Left aligned photo tag: The cool breeze blew as anticipation was built by the gathering crowd. The speakers began to amplify the sound played through them as the night grew dark. Celebration was in the air yet again. Celebration of the life of a ministry in which time would stand still for the few hours as people joined together and remembered what was before the dream that developed into my refuge.
Feeling every defect in the road as I bounced along keeping items in place as the cool night air wiped at my face as I gazed toward the sky in wonder. Knowing that the same moon that shone down on my blessed self shown on starving children a few blocks away at the garbage pit sifting through to locate that evenings meal. The warm bread being ground into pieces within my mouth urged forward thoughts of my current phase of existence. Thoughts of how truly blessed I am ,coming from a world in which a little bit of rice and beans for dinner would be thought of as an appetizer, where a typical household consumes the quantity of three or four in most parts of the world. Now here I sit ,the night in full bloom as my fingers stoke the keys. Yet I cant help but whish for my previous life for sake of familiarity, silence now reigns supreme at this early hour as the night wanes on.
The time come for the end as the crowd begins to meander out ,returning to their existence that is so incomprehensible ,even to myself living among them, I stand in awe of the condition of life in relevance to the condition of the people. No complaining to be heard about the poor insulated , tin roofed meager houses or the corrupt government that steals from the people locking them in a system of poverty. Children walk out of the classroom at sixth grade never to return and enter life in its fullest.
Lessons learned as the vehicle shook beneath my sore feet on the journey home. Lessons about life and its importance, to often we forget that like a disposable camera once our last number is up the end of the beginning is near. Forgetting why were in this situation because of sin yet we continue to feed our nature, Knowing kids sift through garbage as we cram garbage down our thoughts all courtesy of the local dollar menu and golden arches. Having an abundance and wondering what to spend it on instead of who. This is life "The American dream" of pure selfishness and satisfaction".
My departing thought ass sleep beckons next time you gaze at the dollar menu in awe consider this I could buy the food be satisfied for 30 min or pocket the dollar send it to a child in need so for one meal they don't have to sift through the trash and be satisfied for a lifetime knowing that even one dollar can make a difference. The choice is yours will you make a difference? Right aligned photo tag:
