After a breakfast of bread, jam and egg at Tendaba it was back on the road - dusty to start and then thankfully back on tarmac!
Today's stops were on the outskirts of the vast Kiang West National Park:
Booted Eagle, African Hawk-Eagle, Bateleur, Gabar Goshawk, Temminck's Courser, Hoopoe, Chestnut-Backed Sparrow-Lark, African Golden Oriole, Northern Wheatear, Tawny-Flanked Prinia, Yellow White-Eye, Northern Crombec, White-Shouldered Black Tit, Greater Blue-Eyed Glossy Starling, Lesser Blue-Eyed Glossy Starling, Little Weaver, Village Indigobird
We got back to Kotu late afternoon and had a relaxing walk on the beach - our first visit to the beach! Kotu beach is a long sandy beach and whilst we were approached by fruit sellers and tour guides it was for a pleasant chat not a hard sell. Everybody we met so far were friendly and genuinely only trying hard to make a living. We haven't felt threatened or uncomfortable which is a testament to the people of this smiling country.
