Bastogne, The Ardennes, Belgium

We woke up in
Aachen this morning and decided to drive through the back roads to Belgium and pay a visit to Bastonge, were thousands of soldiers as ell as civilians died during WWII's Battle of the Bulge. The only real reminders are a Sherman Tank sitting in the middle of town and and the memorial to the Americans about 2kms outside of town and a tacky little museum in town. We did find an impressive cemetery on the way dedicated to the Americans that died at the Battle of the Buldge and the American aviators that had lost their lives. All the names were listed as well as their division and rank.
