Well, i left the Big Island to keep this trip moving along. Had an interesting layover in Seattle (9 hrs). Why spent that quality time in a cold airport when there is large, thriving city to explore. Explore......i did just that. Seattle has an all night public bus system to cart one around its downtown nightlife. After downing a few pints at McCormick's Bar & Owl n' Thistle Irish Pub, it was time to head back to the airport to catch my connecting flight to San Fransisco.
And here i am (in Monterey) after two flights, BART, CalTrain, Amtrak bus, car ride from a friend. Phuhhhhh....too many transfers. It really makes you pay attention to the time and follow a schedule, that's for sure.
Monterey is the start of my pacific northwest tour. My hopes and plans are to make it to Alaska and get on a salmon boat. Stay tuned for many PacNW postings..........
