After a lovely couple of days we decided to leave Adels Grove, the kids had one last swim in the river before we packed up and headed towards the Gulf of Carpentaria. We got back to the Burke and Wills roadhouse for lunch and a bit of a stretch. We talked about the explorers Burke and Wills who set out from Melbourne in 1860 intent on being the first to cross the Australian continent from south to north. The kids had trouble grasping the concept and did not get why someone would want to do it just for the sake of being the first, they did however, get how hard it must have been.
We stopped at a free camp site south of Normanton. Nothing much there but didn't cost anything either. Dinner and bed, then ready for more driving tomorrow.
