I should start with..Oh man. I'm sorry. I haven't really been keeping up with my blog..but quite frankly (and no offense China) nothing reeeeally crazy cool has happened after my last blog until yesterday..which probably ended up being one of the coolest days of my entire life. Hole agreed. Anyways. Had a few days of just straight up school. Had this moment where..I realized I had my headphones on during my ditie (subway) ride. I felt more..apart of the people..you know? Juust and everyday life, living it up. Actually the weather has been completely owning me. But get this..I'm not a super-sweat monster over here..so..not too sure. Maybe my very new diet is part of this..but whatever. lol

So start my Saturday (basing story somewhat off of pictures) with some rib/noodle soup. Tasty breakfast. Somewhat of an average one..not mad about it. Hah. Moving on to get dropped off at the subway..which was just dead (scary/spooky/fallout dead) in the morning on Saturdays apparently. Nice. Nabbed a seat..first for me. =D Moved on to leave the subway annnnd bought some water. Cold water. Upon examining the pictures..you'll probably notice how Zach and I are in such a celebratory state for cold water. Cold water isn't the most common thing here. Whatever. I'm half-way over it..but anyways. Some more driving and we arrived to Tiantan with a new host-guide and our old driver. (still awesome) The new guide was also really cool, and brought his little 9 year old along for the ride. Hole brought his 12 year old host brother along, and it was fun playing around with them and teaching them the game Ninja/Unagi whenever we would have a lull or wait for the driver to come and get us. Tiantan was Cool. Pictures describe it. It wasn't even too packed. Nice!

After that we headed off to lunch, and we were all so hungry..we just devoured it. Straight up. There was nothing left. And yes. That is a chicken nugget. We didn't order..so don't yell at us..haha. Then to the Crow's/Bird's nest. They call it the Bird's Nest here, but it doesn't really matter because this was easily one of the most amazing structures I've ever seen in my life. The inside felt really nice..and we got to take just a bit of a break..in which we enjoyed watching people ride "Segways" around the track, as the workers continue to renovate the place for whatever they want next..The air was cool and breezy, which was welcomed as the high of the day was 95, and super sunny. The sun is really strong here. But anyways. The pictures of the weird ordered buildings are actually a hotel of some sorts that are connected to represent a dragon..and I think it's called The Dragon Boat Hotel or something. Pretty sweet. (running out of time here..sorry. Ju Ju wants to take me shopping. After we went to this market for like..an hour and a half. And we got to experience that Chinese bartering..and boy. I worked my butt off. Now I know most of the things here are so cheap because they are fake. Yes. I'm over it. But some things still are pretty decent. For example..Beats headphones. Saw some green ones..had to have them. Probably $250 in the United States...annnd the starting asking price was like..550 Kuai (rmb) which equates to maybe..$88 bucks. Still way to expensive. So..after jumping around over and over the place..I got them down to 170 kuai. Ahahaha. Just under 30 bucks. awww YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAHHHH!! I tested out the headphones to make sure they work first. Nice. They sounded good. Naturally they needed batteries..and the people tried to sell me some for like..10 kuai. Aha. No way! Psh. Anyways. Got to see an amazing acrobatics show after...lost the name- sorry..annnd it was just crazy awesome. Everyone just had a sweet day. Side note- Mom/people/everyone- Sorry I don't get many pics of myself..it's just hard. I get in the zone and just start clicking away. But oh well. You can hear my voice in the videos! Annnnd there are a lot. Sorry..I didn't really filter them down...So some might just be silly..but I'm running short on time here..

So..yeah. China continues to impress me in all sorts of ways. The people are always so nice. And I got to finally view a bit of the Beijing after-hours last night on my walk home. I was going to go out with my buddies..but I literally had no idea on how to get back..So i took advantage of the easy-to-use ditie. No sweat. I've got the rest of summer. No too worried about it. The streets are filled with people at night though...probably because it's soo nice out. But yeah. Off to shop. Enjoy the pics when I post them! ;)

Mom on

Love the post, Tye! Beyond the architecture (both old and new), I really enjoy the parks and just viewing/listening to people enjoying themselves. I can't lie...I really enjoy the food and flower photos, too. ;) I look forward to future videos where you will be in conversation with someone (speaking Chinese).
