First, the kids appreciate hearing from everyone! Thanks especially to folks in the neighborhood - Nelsons and Greers! Abbey and Kaylee - TT says hi and is excited you left her a message!

We headed out of Cody Friday morning with a long drive ahead. Richard recommended Cody and the drive through the Big Horn mountain range, and we were not disappointed. It is slow going on a windy road, but heading through Granite Pass at 9000+ feet we finally saw what we hadn't seen in Yellowstone - 3 moose munching in the marsh by the side of the road! Very exciting stuff, and we took it as a good omen.

We made it to Custer, South Dakota just before dusk. Custer is about 15 miles or so from Mount Rushmore. We stayed at a nice campground that had ready-made teepees which the kids loved (and we did too - no tent setup!). In view was the mountainside carving of Crazy Horse, which you may or may not be able to make out from the picture. We also met a nice Dad and daughter from Wisconsin, Jim and Natasha, and had a good time looking at stars through the telescope.
