So here i am sitting in Kathmandu, Nepal! Life sure is a trip sometimes. This place reminds me  alot of India with the busy streets and people everywhere. I've gotten pretty good at looking mean so the hustling guys dont bother me too much but if they do i shut them down so fast and then just walk off. They have all sorts of cool shit for trekking here with knock off jackets and sleeping bags and gloves and boots and everything you could imagine. So it is a trekkers shopping paradise. I bought a pair of ski shorts for $15 that would have been $150 in the states on sale. I am also gonna get two sub zero sleeping bags for like $90 that would be $250 each in the US.

So i ended up staying 6 days in Kathmandu which was more than enough. there was something in the air there and it was pretty horrible. I didn't do a whole lot of sightseeing. i think i am over trapezing around the big cities. Everywhere you go is a nightmare and there are ten guys trying to hustle you so you cant even stop to enjoy the 1000 year old temple of statue that you are looking at. you just have to keep moving and its a waste of time.

The reason that i stayed is cause i was meeting my friend J there. We had met in Guatemala and Belize two years ago and happened to be in Nepal at the same time. It was pretty cool, we just hung out and smoked shisha ( flavored tobacco) and really just went shopping. I got two -10 sleeping bags two pairs of ski pants, a water proof duffel bag, and a super down northface jacket for two hundred dollars! talk about a deal! it would have been like $1200 in the US for all that stuff. The jacket alone would have been $300. anyway now we are ready for any cold weather adventures in the future.

The best thing i did i Kathmandu was go on the Everest flight. It was a little expensive but hey how many time are you in Nepal? so i payed my $160 bucks and off we went. There are really only four things that have taken my breath away in life. The first was the skyline of NYC, the second, Lake atilian in Guatemala, the third was the taj mahal, and the fourth was the Himalayan mountain range. It was like fairy tale, like it couldnt be real. We were flying at 30,000 feet, above the clouds, and the mountains looked like they were coming up out of heaven. Again words can't really describe the awe that they inspired. Sometimes you have to just sit back and wonder how things this wonderful and majestic are created and how you could have klived you life without knowning or experiencing them.

So on to pokhara!

So i'm on back to kathmandu after a miserable bumpy hot sweaty 8 hour bus ride. The air here is so bad and now my travel agent has booked the wrong ticket to bangkok and i have to get a new flight. so we'll see how that goes tommorow.
