So brenda and i decided on the day that we are going to  go on our first travel adventure together before india. a small one to work the kinks out before we hit the big one. and it was a really good idea if you ask me. We decided to go to pulau tioman off the coast of malasiya where i could scuba dive and brenda could lay on the beach. We drive up to a place called mersing where the ferry leaves from and we find a backpacker's place called omars to sleep at. Now brenda was really excited about it cause she had never been in a BP place before. She was jumping around on all the beds and having a grand old time. then we meet these guys from germany and decide to go have dinner with them. they were all really nice and we had a good time. well come to find out they had a special ferry leaving at 12 for divers from SG so we jumped on that one that would get us to the island around twoish. well after many delays we get there at 3-4 and then they drop us off at a spot that isnt where we want to go. and tell us to get off. so here we are on this little island with now where to stay and the whole village is asleep. i end up picking out nice places to sleep on the beach in case it does get any better than that. then i go around knocking on doors to get a room and one guy finally starts yelling at me about what time it was. then i thought we were gonna fight so i just walked away. a few minutes goes buy and he comes back and apologizes then gives us a room for the night. we wake up pay him, and then start walking to another town right down the road. well right down the road wasnt right down the road. so lugging suitcases and backpacks we walked for about and hour and a half before getting to where we are going. it was a nice little shack run by a friendly guy but not really what we were looking for. so we stayed there a night after brenda got terrified of the monsters (coral) in the water. She thought they were going to eat her or even touch her with the squiggly things. needless to say she wanted to stop snorkeling. so after much deliberation we end up going to the selang where we wanted to go in the first place. Really pretty little inlet for backpackers and divers. It was what we were looking for. We stayed there 2 days and met up with the german people again and had a good time. I got to do a wreck dive that sucked but the second dive was amazing visibility, easy dive, we saw turtles, and even in the distance we saw a huge school of barracuda. all i could see was the thousand flickerings of silver in the depths buy cool nonetheless.
A weird thing about this island was the komodo dragons that lived on it. Huge fuckin lizards running around everywhere. When i mean big, as big as a small dog. these things were crazy, and they just chilled out and ate the local cats and shit i think.Brenda found a new hobby...climbing coconut trees. she still has some work to do  but she did ok for the first day on the job. After we left we went got the ferry back to mersing and it was so cold on the boat, i means super cold. The was the famous chest---shoulder incident when brenda wouldnt talk to me for a week. She had her head on my chest but was ripping all the hair out as she lid down. and of course i overreacted and said SHOULDER, NOT CHEST!!!!!  so then  the rest of the trip home was miserable. We got stuck at the Jam at the JB side for 2hours to cross the bridge and by this time it was 12 at night. so we get home at 2am and have to wake up at 6:30 to go to work for 14 hours the next day. That was a serious turn around! but we made it and god to work out all the kinks there than in india!
