The traffic has been nuts but today it was better than yesterday. It is like 2 miles from my resort to the town and Saturday that took 45 minutes to make that drive!!  Today it was 15 I would say.  Not great but better.  We went over the bypass and got out to at least take a picture of the National Park sign and they had a little stand there that was perfect for my camera so I could use the timer to get a picture of us. That is genius!  Why don't more places think of that??  It’s the first one I have ever seen.  We drove all the way to Cherokee and stopped along the way for photos but it was raining on and off and very cloudy and overcast.  I think that gives you a new perspective on things than you get in the sunshine so I was ok with the rain. But I think that my camera just can’t keep up with what my eyes are seeing.  I always feel that way in nature.  I feel like the photos don’t even come close to matching what my eyes see.

One annoyance I have is when people smoke in the nature.  I was at an overlook and this whole family was standing there chain smoking.  It makes it so unpleasant for everyone.   Everywhere I went all I smelled was cigarettes.

Jym has taken to making up bad things that might happen just to challenge me to not react. He calls it "suck therapy".

In Cherokee we got out and walked through some of the shop areas and got some chocolate and then drove back. We passed a small waterfall which I thought was very beautiful.  It was the nicest I saw since I got here.  Lots of little cascades.  It was right by the side of the road.

We went to the grocery store and bought up steaks.  I have to say the people at the Food City are really nice.  Tonight Misty at the meat dept offered to put garlic and herb on our steaks since we have no seasoning at the hotel!  So nice.  We went back and cooked up our own dinner and it was really good.  Then we had a little visitor at the patio!  A family of Raccoons.  Hey I gotta take my wildlife when I can get it.
