So when we arrived in Xi'an we got picked up by our hostel, and decided to have our own room as we've been sharing in dorms for so long we just wanted some peace and quiet. Our room came with cable TV - including BBC World News and HBO...so we spent some time literally doing nothing...which was great :-)
We've both had a bit of a dodgy tummy...normally when arriving in Asia people do have a funny tum for a few days, so its just that I think...nothing serious!
We decided we wouldn't visit Tibet this time though. The cost of a tour is about $200 each and you have to be accompanied by a guide the entire time you are in the region...this is to stop you seeing anything the chinese government dont want you to see. We don't agree with how the Tibetans have been treated by the Chinese, so do not want to exaserbate the situation. Maybe one day Tibet will be free and we will visit then, but in the meantime we will stay away.
We rented bikes and cycled around the walls of Xi'an...the cloud cover was enough that we decided that we wouldnt need suncream! Bad idea! Still got really badly burnt...:-(
