It's our last day on the road.  We took historic Route 66 through Santa Rosa, NM and took a couple of pictures along the way.  I wanted to go through the center of Albuquerque, but it was quite larger than I expected, so we just passed through.  Maybe we will stop there on another journey.

Our first stop after departing Santa Rosa was a rest stop/shopping store.  They had everything from fireworks to bronze sculptures.  We picked up some sparklers and a pair of socks for Alex to remind us all of New Mexico.  What was more amazing was the number of billboard signs leading up to this place. For over a 2 mile stretch, there was billboard after billboard.  I took a little video footage to give you an idea.  This was not the first stop in NM that used this type of persistent advertising to lure people in.

The last rest stop along I-40 in AZ, before heading down to Scottsdale, had some very large inhabitants that Alex wanted to check out. He decided it might be important to bring along his new ray-gun that Papa picked up for him in Santa Rosa.

It was very strange arriving home after being away for almost 6 weeks.  I was thankful with the time spent cleaning the house before we left.  We are slowly getting acclimated to being back and remembering where to find things in the kitchen.
