It is rainy and cold but we don't care, It's Paris! We see the eiffel tower but choose not to go up in the cold rain. We bought transit tickets and walk and walk looking for a bus to the Louvre. Apparently you need to take the subway to get there by transit. We walk the champs-elysees to the Place de la Concorde. We see many sights including the arc de triumph and the oh...so many gold statues
and sights, you have seen forever in books appear in front of you. We continue to walk to the louvre and after a quick [fitful] lunch we enter the Louvre. So pleased the French don't charge entrance fees for children and their guided tour headphones are only 2€. The Mona Lisa is spectacular but so is EVERYTHING else, including the ornate frames and the ancient religious sculptures from the 3rd century!! It's a good thing we read the travel books re: scams; we had 3 of them attempted on us, including the "I found this beautiful gold ring but it doesn't fit me but it fits you!"
