we were advised to drive down the west coast of California and we were not dissapointed. the road follows the coast (and I mean follow).
50-100 miles (90-170km) of winding road along cliffs and beaches.
We stopped at many of the lookouts and at one randomly came across some seals basking on a rock, later we saw whales coasting along and then a whole beach of elephant seals.
Finally pulled in at Pismo Beach for the night
