The ride down here was a bit of a mission, 4.30 am wake up and 5am train ride to Colombo and straight through to Galle in the south. The train journey ride right along the beech and from you see the devastation left from the Tsunami....temporary housing (now permanent) and train still of the tracks and of course the beggar's on the train.

At Galle I took a tuk tuk to the guest house recommended the crashed on the beech...hell yes!!!

The next day refreshed I met up with Chloe and Eve, also meeting to dutch girls Su and Laura. At last I managed to get some time to do completely nothing and regenerate my tan, which had faded while in Japan and China.

The next day I met Marcus and Andy, two Aussie boy and the night turned into an event of drinking that ended with most of us in the sea...and the best thing was the clear black sky and the shooting stars.

The next night another drinking sessions and the day full of sun bathing on the beech.

I did managed to get myself out of there to Galle again to look around the historical Portuguese/dutch/English fort. Her I managed to see actually how popular cricket actually is in sri lanka..it was being played everywhere. The other weird thing was the local couples making out under the shade of umbrellas (its frowned on her so they have to hide!!).

So relaxed I considered my next move....what to do...the plan was to go to Hikaduwwa to do some scuba diving although I phoned up and all the dive shops were shut due to bad seas. So after a night of heavy raining I decided to move on back towards Colombo.

On the way up I stopped at one of the many turtle sanctuaries, which was pretty good, however like the rest of the south effected by the tsunami and desperately needs some help.
