The Duran Duran video is more like a tourist video from Sri Lanka, including the South Beeches, Polonurawwa and Sigiriya (the main reason for coming to sri lanka).
So I awoke in my Lanka house, made breakfast by mum and then spent time trying to stop the monkeys raid my eggs on toast!!!
A short walk from the guest house is the lion rock, centuries old and dominating the sky line. So called the lion rock because the top was once sculpted into a lion and the jaws were the entrance to the princes chambers. Now that all exists are the large paws!!!
Have way up the climb are also the stunning fresco's or paintings...I slipped the guards a bit of cash and also went to the restoration area to view some more, although shat myself walking on small beams clung onto the side of the rock a good 200m up.
On top of the rock i met two English girls (Chloe and eve) who recommended Unawatuna in the south. So I decided to make this my next stop. The views around were pretty damn good, jungle and the mountains of Kandy in the distance.
A few hours later I wondered back the house, again watched the large grey monkeys and chilled with Madu before catching a bus back to Kandy.
