A late arrival and waiting in the airport for Joe....his flight delayed so a solo trip to the hostel and spot on street bbq for around 50p.

Next day Lewis arrived on the train and we jumped straight on for a two hour journey to a nearby city of Leshan. The reason to come here is the giant Buddha...now I have seen alot of Buddhas in the last 6 months, but this was a bit different. For example you can supposedly get 8 Chinese people of one of his toes!!! Thats how big it is and dug into the side of a cliff, the sight is pretty impressive. But what made it better was the surrounding caves, waterfalls and gardens. Amazing another nice part of China and the sky was a lot less smoggy than Xian.

The other big draw to Chengdu is the world famous panda sanctuary. The next we got up really early to watch the pandas, as the are apparently more active in the morning!!! Well they moved as far as the feeding platforms, then sat on their back sides chewing away. you can see why there an endangered....they are pretty damn lazy, eat a ridiculous food source and the Chinese probably eat them as well (they eat everything else!!!)

The red panda, which look more like raccoons, were more active...running around!!!!

The rest of the day was a little boring, cv work....yahn..but has to be done.

And another flight out to Gullin, on route back to Hog Kong.
