The list of what I wanted to see on my trip is getting small now...most has been achieved!!! Although really gutted I can't get to India due to filling up my passport. Well in the world align and airlines?airports get back to me maybe I will be going to sri lanka instead.
By the way...anyone out there know if I can transit through an Indian airport with out a visa? I will be using to different airlines as well...might cause a problem.
Anyway back to the wall.
I sort of had a choice to three parts of the wall. One which all the tourists go, one a bit touristy and one with no renovation no tourists.
I choose the middle and took a tour through my fantastic hostel in Beijing to a place called Mutianyu about 2 hours from the city center.
Entry wasn't to bad and the hawkers could of been a lot worst. The wall has a couple of kms restored, but you also get views in the distance of un restored wall.....pretty damn amazing sight!!!
So hooked up with Paul and met others from the hostel, Suzanne and Ian. Hiked along the wall, basked in the glorious sunshine and then took a sleigh/slide thing back down the side on the mountain to the buses....mucho fun!!!! Plus we got told off for going to fast..big kids!!!!
I the evening I treated myself to fried scorpion, but I'll put more of that on my Beijing entry
