Japans great and everything works really well here, apart from the issue with regard taking out cash!!! There are ATMs everywhere, but you cant use western cash cards, even visa to with draw cash.

So you have to visit international ATMs nomally found in large banks such as citi bank or the post offices. Not did I know when arriving in Nagano that all the international banks would be shut for three days. Therefore I couldnt go and see the snow monkey, which is only and hour from Nagano.

However I did get another great experience.

I stayed at the foot of Zenkoji temple in the north of the city. The guest house was in a 100 year old Budha temple, we couldnt even take our bags in the rooms, due to the old doors and matting. In old room 8 of us slept on roll mats. The room like something out of kill bill or and old kung fu film. Sliding doors, with paper coating, images of budha and matted floors. Pretty special even if the curfew was 9.30 and lights out at 10, probably a good thing as everyone in the dorm was up at 6am.

So after visiting the local temple, I had no choice but to jump a train to Tokyo.

Once again getting confused by the tube network!!! I met up with Aimee and Charlotte after an hour of following Aimee rubbish directions to the hostel, missing out the valuable point of taking a left rather than right of the first line of directions. I did get revenge though on insisting we visiting the cinema to watch spiderman 3 that night.....the film was shocking especially after the first two are so good....and bored them to death for 2 hours!!!!
