Wow the views at this place are tops!!!!
The landscape here reminds me so much of New Zealand, dramatic rolling snow capped mountains, eagles circlingin the sky and big drops into canyons below.
Kamikochi is the main tourist centre of the Japanese Alps and because again of golden week here...the national holiday the place was really busy.
What was funny was how the Japanese were prepared......why do you need ice picks to go hiking????? Plus the warm out routines before heading out of a hike......just really funny to watch.
So I spent about 3 hours on great hiking trails, through forests and along the river...of course with snowy mountains either side. I have also now got an addition for the tea here..which comes straight out vensing machines hot!!!
I also got caught on my first traffic jam on the way back to Matsumoto, I havent sen one yet!!!
The manic siteseeing continues tomorrow in Nagano....
