I got Japan now... I know how to spend cheaply and live on a budget.
Most 7 elevens sell cheap, very cheap sushi. A roll or snack box you can pick up for about 200 to 400 yen which is just over a quid and i love the pocari sweat, which is less sugary than lucosade and tastes fab.
So living on a reasonable budget and traveling on local trains I made my way down to Nara, the old city of Japan. Only one hour south of Kyoto and full of wild dear wondering around, or tame what ever way you see it, as you can feed the little buggers.
The place has some of Japans oldest buildings, a huge large Buddha and old moss gardens full on stone temples.
So chilled there for the day and on the way back stopped at Inari, known for its rows of torii, which are the large gates. These led a path through more bamboo forests and I spent the afternoon just taking in more of the amazing surroundings of Kyoto and Japan.
