I guess you may of seen all the photos by now of my little ginger friends...just want to say a BIG thank you to everyone who sponsored me for the London Marathon. Rest assured that the sponsorship forms will be out again when I get back as I am planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

What surprised me most is that the center is tiny with only 43sq km of ground for the Orang-utans. Once they are better, they are often air lifted to open jungle.

Whats even more depressing is the kms of palm oil plantations, we drove for almost an hour with no other view but palms.....its illegal logging of the forest which is killing off the Orang-utans and other species such as Javan Rhino and Pygmy elephants. All the money is therefore going to a fantastic charity.

Unfortunately I couldn't get to close to the baby orang-utans, especially Naru where some of the sponsorship money went. This is to stop then getting diseases as they spend 90 days in quarantine after rescue.

I did however stay in the same rest house as the volunteers, right next to the reserve. Which was great, also met Chris on the way from KK. Bizarrely we have done pretty much the same route around the world and going to same direction, so possibly might meet up later in SE Asia.

We watched the Orang-Utans at two viewing sessions and did a forest trek, where avoiding leaches we saw more orang-utans in the trees above...sort of semi-wild.

of to Sipadan next to do some diving.
