After having the life of luxury at Sammys place in Tweed Heads it was time to move on and go back to Byron Bay.
We borrowed a tent and camp at a hippy camp site called the arts factory for the night.
Byron Bay is a stunning beech area which was orginally a hippy hang out, but due to tourism you know have a mixture of different people....hippys, backpackers, holiday makers and a couple of pretenoius as well!!!
We watched to cricket and after another defeat crashed for the night. The next day the weather wasnt great (in oz terms) so we decided trek up to the light house and the most easternly point in OZ. That night we had a bbq on the beech and a night at the cinema.
The next day it was hot, the girls arrived back down from Tweeds Heads, Paul started is Open Water diving and I tried to get extra accomidation, with no success, so back to the hippy camp site.
More off sammys friends joined us on the beech and later that night we went out for thia food and a drunken boogy.
Next day was our surf lessons. I had already taken some in Sydney, but these were much better. The instructor took time explaining what to do on the beech and pushed us into the waves, so we didnt need to worry about paddling. Within 3 attempts I was standing up on the board, more trys later the instructor would get us to paddled with assisted push and later still I was independantly paddling and catching waves.....The key was the instuction, it was top notch and dicked over any advice we were given in Bondi.
That night we took the whole group back to the bbq site next to the beech cooked up some food and chilled.
The next day I dived for the first time in ages, it wasnt the best but saw some sharks and bulls ray. More time was taken on the beech later catching up with Sammy and Siobhan. Later in the evening we have a bbq at the hostel and another boogy, not too much alcohol though this time.
Our last day with the girls we spent relaxing by the beech and in the evening we went out with Pauls diving buddy's and Mark, who we had meet in Pauls hostel.
Byron Bay all in all was a top place and I was sad to say goodbye to it........
