..right last blog was the grampians...so...argh yes back to Melbourne and Xmas.
So we arrived back in the city on Christmas Eve, crashed out when James returned about 1am, so technically xmas by then!!!
Up fairly early to pick up the girls, rush over to catch up with the clegg family and onto Zannahs for dinner.
We had brought food ready to cook up a bbq, however Colin had already prepared a feast, so It felt like Christmas....even the weather was shitty. The second coldest xmas on record in Melbourne. It even hailed at one point.
After dinner we did managed to get in a game of cricket, name that tune and single shards preformed by drunken Zannah
Boxing and the MCG, another early start to drop off the car and onto the cricket, along with the other 90,000 nutters. The script went as normal an England collapse, Shane Warne picking up his 700 wicket, however the atmosphere was tops and a great day.
Next day we had a wonder around the city checking out the tourist sights, which included the Captain cooks house, the cathedral and the views from the Riato tower over the city. Later in the evening I caught up Cara, who I met in Mexico City, we went over to Chelsea watch the sunset on the beech and nattered for a while. On the way over I convinced James to take us to see where neighbours is filmed, pin oak or better known as Ramsey street had barriers across and while we were they, drunken Brits turned up shouting...wheres Harold!!!
The next day was a cricket day again, the barmy army were superb, with numerous convict chants and batter with the Aussie bowlers...my favorite new song...your next queen is Camella parker bowls to yellow submarine....absolute gold!!! Of course this didn't really help and we suffered an innings defeat to the old enemy. Later that evening we chilled in St Kilda, with more beech cricket with Zannah, Colin and there friends.
Final day in Melbourne was a lazy day, we chilled out down Chapel street, I tried to catch up with Nat who i met in Mexico, but just missed her when she left work.
In the evening after saying goodbye to James we set off on an over night bus to Sydney, checking out the road side kangaroos as we went....
