After just catch our bus from Campo Grande, we arrived in the Brazilian side of the falls at around 10am. We made our way straight to the bus station to check departures to the Argentinean side of the falls, left our bags in lockers and got another bus to the falls.
The falls is really touristy, especially the Brazilian side and we luckily arrived just before the big American, Chinese and Japanese tour groups.
The Brazilian side is much smaller and further away from the falls, but gives a good overall view of these falls, which dick all over what I saw at Niagara. The falls are the biggest in the world, with three large falls and hundreds of smaller falls covering a distance of a couple of kms
A short walk along the Brazil side leads to a walkway across to see the devils throat, we got fairly close but had to fight our way through the tour groups and at times this was a little frustrating.
After spending a couple for hours here, we got on a bus over the border to Argentina.
That night we had a great BBQ at the hostel.
The following morning we booked an overnight bus journey to BA and planned to spend the day at the falls again.
The Argentinina side of the falls was a far better experience. This side has a variety of different walks above, below and through the falls. An island between the falls and a power boats that drives into one of the big falls. All at for a cheaper price than over in Brazil.
The boat trip was great fun, of course we got really wet, but went right into the falls and thrown back out again by the force of it....clever hodge had his diving camera for cool camera shots.
this has been the most spectacular nature tourist attraction I have seen so far on my trip and the day was topped of by a trip again to the devils throat. A short train ride takes you to another walk way, a 10 minute walk around the river leads the waterfall and you can see straight down into the falls. Truly an amazing sight with the water crashing and swifts flying around the mist.
We made our bus with 10 minutes to spare and onto BA.
