So after spending a couple of days in Cuzco it was time to wonder around the Sacred Valley surrounding Cuzco and the numerous Inca ruins.

A short walk outside of Cuzco, all be it up a huge hill are the Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman or sexy women as they are also known. At these ruins look place a huge battle between the inca and the spanish and because of this only 20% of the ruins remain as the spanish took alot of the stone to build Cuzco.

Another short walk lead to Qenko, a large boulder with carvings and a zig zag tunnels.

A bus ride took me to two other ruins, Puca Pucara and Tambo Machay. A fort onto of a hill and an Inca bath.

The following day I booked my train ride to Machu Picchu. This left from a town called Ollantaytambo, to get here I took to local buses and spent a couple of hours visiting the ruins.

This huge fort was the last Inca strong hold after the Spanish invasion. Looking over the town below the ruins are vast and impressive.

These sites were only a sweeten of what was to come, at 8pm I boarded the train to Machu Picchu the lost Inca city set deep with the Andean mountains.
