I have just probably seen the highlight of my trip so far in the lost Inca city of Machu Picchu.

Because of the huge scale of the sights around Cuzco I have separated the blog up into three.

Soooo.....Cuzco, simply the best place I have been to so far on my trip. The city is a mix between colonial beauty, inca history and partying tourists. The city is nested between huge mountains and was once an Inca city, in fact its name is Quechua for Navel of the earth.

On my first night here I stayed at Loki hostel in the north of town, as this had been recommended as the place to be. Although good I did find a little more expensive than other options and because it is at the end of the tourist season I managed to find a better deal closer to the city center. The center is dominated by a huge plaza and stunning churches. On my first day there, a sunday, religious parades cycled around the town.

I soon found the night life. Its common here to sleep in the afternoon, go out for food, maybe have another snooze, then go out about 11pm and stay out until 4am or more.....

I now managed to try most Peruvian food, raw fish, alpaca, root drinks. My favorite has to be two of the drinks. Pisco sour and a milk drink with egg and cinnamon. Not to sure about the guinea pig, when served it comes out as a whole Guinea pig. Also saw frogs at the market, which were skinned and eaten raw....nice.

Overall though a top place
