Wow what can I say, this is probably one of the highlights of my trip so far. Apologies for splitting up my entries to each isle, but I don't think I've ever taken so many pictures.
After my day in Quito I checked into a posh hotel, great having my own room, a double bed to myself and a warm bath! The following morning I left early for The Galapagos Islands, landing in Baltra shortly after midday. The first thing I noticed was the finches at the airport and after a couple of short rides we ended up in Puerto Aurora on Santa Cruz Island.
The afternoon we spent at the Charles Darwin research centre looking at the Gigantic Tortoises from the different islands. In many ways I wished I'd taken more photos here, because Its hard to get to the areas where they live in the wild and most of the tortoises are extinct on most islands.
That night on board our boat we set sail on a 7 hour journey to our first island. This was after first our boat crashed into another in the dock, very entertaining viewing!
