Wow what a city!!!
Today I've been site seeing around the Manhattten area of New York. That's the bit with the sky scrapers and man there big. I find myself wondering around looking into the sky and bumbing into city workers.
The New Yorks are great, they tean to talk and shout at each other alot. I've also felt really safe in the city.
I started the day at Ground zero, which now has the subway open and most the foundations are down for the new freedom tower. Theres boards on the fences explaining the history of the area. Not far from there is wall street and trinity church.
I then took the Statin Island ferry, which is free past The Statue of Liberty, I think I'm going to go back there on Saturday as the ferry is pretty far area.
Next up Brooklyn Bridge. I took a long walk over this talking in the views.
In the afternoon I wondered up to the Mid town area, talking in the districts of Soho, Tribeca, Greenwich village and China Town.
I finished the day with a well earn't cold diet coke in a bar next to the Flatiron building.....
tomorrow....Empire State...

NY-NY
Whilst in New York definitely do the ferry trip that combines Ellis Island and the imigration museum there (free I think) and the Statue of Liberty.
As for the Empire state head there for dusk as it's usually a bit quieter, plus you get to see the view by day and night.
We loved the Comfort Diner (http://www.menupages.com/restaurantdetails.asp?areaid=0&restaurantid=3460&neighborhoodid=0&cuisineid=22) for a 50s NY breakfast feast -will fill you up till tea time!
Have fun!
