16th April: We only intended to get as far as Arthur's Pass, but made it all the way to the little town of Murchison. Found a great little cottage to stay in - it had 4 cats! That's always a good sign. :-) In fact, the owner was out when we arrived and so we were met by the cats. As it was such a warm welcome we decided to go and have a cup of tea and come back later in case someone was in, rather than check in to the motel instead. 

 17th April: Left for Motueka.
