We woke up, had breakfast, and left for New York City. The temperature was warm than yesterday - 39F. You could tell it was warmer.
After we picked up our guide, Bruce Roberts, we went to St. Patrick's Cathedral. There were a lot of places to light candles to different saints. The Rose Window was colorful and it was super cool how it reflected the light.
We walked around 5th Avenue and saw the (outside) of the shops. Our group split it to two groups, evens and odds. The evens had the tour of the Rockefeller buildings while the odd group could do what ever they pleased. Then we switched.
The shoppers went shopping. Others when to 30 Rock observation deck. The elevator ride was about 3 minutes. It was about 70 stories. It was a birds-eye-view, but you could not see Ground Zero. We saw the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Central Park.
For the shoppers, we went to shops of 5th Avenue and the Museum of Modern Art shop.
The tour of Rockefeller Center was great. There are 21 buildings that make up Rockefeller Center. The tour guide showed us Prometheus and Atlas. Prometheus brought fire to the earth and the gods were not happy so everyday they sent a big bird to peck out his liver. Atlas also angered the gods was made to hold up the Universe for eternity.
There was a lot of history with Rockefeller Center. We had a different guide for this tour. We learned a lot about the architecture and Art Deco artwork from our tour guide (whose name I can't remember). We could have spent more time but our schedule was tight. - Mr. Nish
After saying good bye to Mr. Roberts we drove to Pennsylvania to our hotel outside of Philadelphia.
Our dinner will be at Bob Evan's Restaurant.
Tomorrow we will be in Philadelphia.
