April 15, 2006

Hey guys! How are you doing? Today we drove from Portland, Maine to Boston, Mass. The first stop was the Museum of Science. We got to see live snakes and even got to watch a show at the Planetarium. It was based Star Wars and the possibility of life on other planets. The whole museum had a Star Wars theme. The bird exhibit was also wicked cool.

Our guide was Mr. James. We walk in the North Boston area. It was the oldest area in Boston. Paul Revere's ride started here. The Old North Church is where the lanterns were hung in the steeple: One by land, two by sea.

After we walked to the burial (Copp's Hill Burying Ground) ground. The difference between a burial ground and a cemetary is that in a burial ground, the bodies are just dumped, whereas in a cemetary, the grounds are landscaped.

Two of the tombstones (Daniel Malcolm and Wife) were used as target practice by the loyalist.

They don't know where everyone is actually buried because the tombstones were moved around a lot. The tombstones either had a skull with bone, a skull with wing, or an angel with wing. The skull means death, the skull with wings means death with heaven, and angel means you went to heaven.

We saw Mr. James' house but were Not invited in.

Reporting Chris and Ryan. Ryan did most of the TALKING. Chris and Mr. Nish did most of the listening.

hi
Hi everyone, we are doing fine, the fourth graders are nice and we got to do an art project (that you guys missed out on, Ha!). We made this really cool box. Sorry for those students who had to wait forever to get their dinner.
