April 23 - Not Mr. Nish's Birthday
Today we ate breakfast at the hotel. It was delicious. The water taste like chlorine. Gotta get used to it.
We drove to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's house. It was very interesting and nice, but he wasn't home. The busts in his house were scary, because we thought they were going to move line in scary movies.
The clock in the main hall was cool because it Jefferson made it and it ran on a weight system. It not only told time but what day of the week it was.
He also made a French door where both doors would close just by closing one of them.
The grave site was also interesting. Everyone threw their loose change on the grave stones. On his tomb stone, Jefferson wanted to be remembered for three things: Author of the Declaration of American Independence, Of the Statute of Virginia for religious freedom, and Father of the University of Virginia."
