Mentioned to Bekah that I didn't think it was strep since the pain had moved from my throat to nasal passage. Probably just a summer time cold and being tired from all the 14 hour days of recent. Headed to the laundry room to work on some stuff. The girls were watching the slide show that was shown last night at the staff party. I missed it due to being sick and in bed. I could tell that having showed up later in the season than everyone else, I missed a great deal of fun the early part of the summer. Most of the staff will be leaving this week to head back to college, so that will leave a skeleton staff for the remainder of the season.
Dace walked into the laundry room and told me to get to bed. Said he'd rather me get better before everyone leaves this weekend. The remainder of the summer should be interesting. If I'm already tired from the work I'm doing now, how much more tired am I going to be when everyone leaves? I'm sure I'll handle it... It's a bit harder than I imagined, but I'll be stronger for it. I'm sticking to it till the end.
I did decide to head to my room, but before I went the girls showed me a website that really struck a cord with me. It's called Postsecret.com. Apparently, a guy by the name of Frank started a website that collects postcards from people around the world with their secret on it. After he receives it, he posts it up on the website anonymously. Some are heart wrenching and others are funny.
Disclaimer - sappiness approaching...
It stroke a cord because, even though I know it, there's something going on in each of your lives that I don't know. The same goes for individuals that I might just pass on the street. It's easy to be preoccupied with what's going on in your own life, but more difficult to keep up with everyone else and their lives. I would be first to admit to having faults, coming up short and not being the best friend a person could have.
I have folks on here that are friends from grade school, former co-workers, current cohorts, family and others I'm not sure how to classify (smile). One thing I do know is that, I hope each of you know that, I'm glad you've been apart of my life. I suppose being in the middle of no wheres land makes one ponder on where they are in life, who's been apart of it thus far and where do you plan on heading. It's been an adventure so far out here and yet there are days I miss the "same ole, same ole".
Thanks for being there, thanks for reading my blog, thanks for being a friend. Check out Postsecret.com. It's pretty moving...
