Wasn't feeling too hot today.  Started having a little bit of a sore throat and tummy ache mid-day, so after my chores were done I took an hour nap.  I was on "Rodeo duty" tonight.  So, I had to take a car load of folks to the Friday night rodeo in town -- again.  I was hoping to get to take the Ambassador's family into town, but didn't want to ask.  You get a good amount of time to talk when you're taking a family to town...  Thought I'd leave it up to fate and see what family I ended up with, rather than to force a situation.  I'm up here for a reason, so it's quite possible that I'm suppose to meet, talk and learn from another family.  You never know...

Come to find out, Dace had the Ambassador's family in my car tonight!  I was so excited!  His beautiful wife is from London and they have friends (who have impressive backgrounds themselves) that are traveling with them as well from London.  Needless to say, it fed my hunger for good conversation about politics and the international scene.  The conversation went from immigration reform, the Presidential race, different governments and how they differ, and even the latest Nixon Broadway show in New York.  Absolutely delightful!
I think that is one thing I miss the most about Georgia.  The ability to banter about policy and "what ifs" with some of my friends.  A typical day encompasses talking about who's dating who on the ranch and who's mad at who.  I suppose it all has it's time and place, just really miss a good discussion on issues.

This is the second week we've had someone from London.  After I visit my Dad in Dubai, I really want to head over there.  It seems like it would be a great city to visit.  Maybe I'll combine a trip with London in it...  I just love their accents!

It's getting rather late and since I've worked two 15 hour days -- I'm going to bed!  Oh, I tried my best to take a photo of some cowboys for my friend Erin, but it was dark at the rodeo and my photos do not seem to come out...  I'll keep trying.  ;o)

Giddy up,

Heather
