After posting my blog last week the news of our engagement was available for all to see, and it was great to hear everyone's happy wishes as they shared in the excitement.

The rest of the week went on as usual, except for the increased frequency of my visits to the bathroom.  That's where the best light is, you see.  The best light to get the best look at my lovely ring!

So when I wasn't in the toilet I was working, and when I wasn't working I was at home.  That was basically the weekdays in a nutshell.  Oh, and giving consideration to the multitude of things we're going to have to organise before we actually get married.  That alone exhausted me!

And then it got to Friday.  Phil had gone out with his football crew on Friday afternoon for drinks.  I treated myself to way too much food from the chip shop, including a kebab burger, and opened a bottle of wine.  At about 8.30 old mate rolled through the doors, eyes half open and being all affectionate.  Ten minutes later he was asleep on the couch next to my, resting on my legs.  It didn't take much longer for me to push him onto the floor and send him up to bed.

Unfortunately for him, he had to get up early Saturday morning to go to work.  I, thankful I hadn't finished the wine, got to sleep in for the rest of the morning, and then the rest of the day was spent pottering around the house and getting my nails back up to an acceptable standard.  That night we headed off to the casino for Phil's aunt's 60th birthday party where we stayed for a couple of hours before heading home for a reasonably early night.  Philo was out again on Sunday morning playing football and afterwards we went into Moseley to watch Man U get absolutely rolled.  The four ciders I had while we were watching the game put me in a good mood to be able to meet Phil's other family at a christening.  I hadn't met that side of the family before so it was nice to put some faces to names.  But it wasn't so nice when I woke on Monday morning with a headache and a hangover.  When will I learn.
