I can't say I was particularly looking forward to today as the only previous time I have eaten lamb was in Hong Kong about 8 years ago and I didn't really enjoy it. I had a lamb samosa in London a couple of weeks ago and it was delicious so I went in with an open mind.
We started the morning making some chocolate mousse using my favourite ingredients - eggs!
We then got started with the lamb dishes. We had marinated some lamb the night before and I browned it off before adding in some prunes and apricots to make a lamb tagine. We popped it the oven and had a look at a lamb chop. We marinated it also.
Sarah showed me a really easy way to make couscous. You put it in a bowl and pour in enough boiling water to cover it. You then leave it for about 5mins, fluff it up with the tines of a fork and you're ready to go!
we also made a yummy sweet potato mash and a parsnip gratin which we ate with the cooked lamb chop before tucking into the tagging. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it all was. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to eat it again but I now know how to cook it if I ever need to.
I then tried the amazing chocolate mousse I made this morning, wow, tasty, tasty, tasty. Sarah then decided to see if she could tempt me with the creme brûlée from yesterday. I thought, why not, I've already put on a ton of weight I might as well make the most of it. Sarah loved it and told me that I was her best student ever as half of her other students wouldn't eat half of what they've made. not sure that is the best reason for being the vest student!!
I had a bit of a sore throat today so I and quite an early night, especially as tomorrow is Vegetarian day, perhaps the one day I most looking forward to on the whole course.
