Hampi is meant to be a cool jungle escape from the heat of Goa and central India... what it really is.... hot ass ruins in the middle of nowhere..... after leaving Goa on public transport and getting stuck in a random town overnight, we took a train and a rickshaw and finally made it to Hampi just before sundown Elections were on so beer sales were off..... We managed to bump into a lonely English traveler and he offered up his whiskey in exchange for conversation... not a bad trade. We spent the next day exploring the ruins, dodging the sun, playing Frisbee over a heard of goats and being blessed by an Elephant I tried to feed the elephant a candy cane but no luck. Hampi also marked the beginning of a new trend in accommodation options. Thanks to splitting the room by two people, the extra cost of cable television now became the standard choice..
