We got into Luxor on Haloween. Needless to say Egypt does not celebrate this holiday and we ended up drinking in pubs with more staff than patrons....

Luxor is known for Karnek temple and the Valley of the Kings and Queens. There simply so much history in this area that it boggles the mind. At this point in the trip I had ceased to care..I just gave Dave the book and followed him around on cruise control. The sites were sweet but I had grown to apathetic to read anymore historical info. The Karnek Temple was sweet but I cant tell you any facts except the place was covered in scantly clad Russia tour groups. This is a semi big deal because Muslims as you know cover as much as their body as possible and normally when in Egpty shorts and Tshirt are pushing it....but the Russian in their miniskirts, skin tight short shorts and shirtless men seemed oblivious to this fax-pau

The next day we rented some bikes and rode the 15 K to Valley of the Kings. This Valley is not really much to look at. But it is covered in underground massive maze like tombs of the Pharaohs. I think there are over 30 tombs. Basically you walk down into these huge underground mazes where the kings are buried. The walls are cover in hieroglyphics and you can see how booby traps were set everywhere.... There are so many tombs to explore but the entrance fee only gets you 3 and after that you have to pay for each one! King Tuts tombs is suppose to be the most visited but it cost 10 bucks to enter so I passed but Dave checked it out. There are no pictures allowed inside so I was only able to get a couple of undercover shots....

After this we started our mad scramble to make it all the way back to Cairo in order to get to Isreal the next day. It went a little something like this.....Buy a train ticket-relize the train ticket wont get us there in time to catch connections-sell the train ticket for a loss-run back to our place-catch a overpriced taxi because we are late and have no bargaining power-get to the bus right before it pulls out-pay twice as much as the train-arrive in 12 not 9 hours to Cario-Slam some breakfast down-get on the 8 hour bus to Isreal Border-get an Iserali stamp in our passport because the bitch working is stupid and does not understand that we now will have to buy a new passport to travel Arabic countries....that will cost 100 bucks for a new passport- Catch standing room only bus to Nir's Kabbutz and arrive just in time for free dinner in the Cafteria!
