Went for drive through Burnham Market to Hunstanton and saw lavender fields. Drove back past Sandringham Castle on huge estate. Stopped in Fakenham to do some shopping. Bought Aunty Joy chocolates and meat - so expensive. Rump steak 3 pound 11 per pound. Bought Elsie box chocolates and drove to give them to her. Absolutely monstrous with three big barns and gorgeous backyard on 2 acres. I love their place so much. Aunty Joy came and saw us there and gave us 2 old plates as a present. They're lovely. Went back to Aunty Joy’s for lunch and then we left at 1 pm - sad to go.
Drove through King’s Lyn, Downham Market, Ely to Bedford and through gorgeous village of Buckingham which I loved. Arrived Oxford 5 pm. Beautiful city like Cambridge which has a magical atmosphere with all the old colleges and lanes. Arrived Berkhamsted 6.45 and had lovely dinner with Aunty Hilda and Uncle Jimmy. Hilary and Ralph in Canary Islands. Went to bed very tired.
