After breakfast we set off at 8.30 for our long drive. We drove down to Carlisle and stopped at Gretna Green and saw the Old Smithy's shop and then got on the M6 to Leicester only stopping twice for petrol. We drove through Peterborough passing lovely countryside and through Wisbech to Kings Lyn. We arrived at Aunty Joy’s at 4.00 pm. I had 7 letters and 7 lots of photos waiting which was great. At 7.30 we went to dinner at the Village Hall where Elsie, Fred and Freddie live. It is the most fantastic place and is 600 years old. It is furnished with beautiful antiques. There are exposed oak beams, walls of oak panelling and 3 enormous fireplaces. The house is incredible. Another couple, Les and Glyn were also there. The meal was superb. We got to bed at 2.30 am.
