Chalet - 15/3/82 - windy and cold

After collecting our ski clothes 20 pounds, got our boots and skis at Glenshee and started our 2 hour lesson. Got hang of it quite quickly, but fell over few times. Feels like you are floating but very hard to get up afterwards. After lunch we went to get some more practice before the lesson started. The wind was so cold. I didn't go for the afternoon lesson, but sat in the café. This morning while we were sitting in the chalet it started to snow. Arrived home frozen, cooked tea and went to see ski film. Disco at Spittal at Glenshee Hotel. Disco slack. Slept well.

Chalet - Blairgowrie 16/3/82 - cool - no wind

Woke up with very sore throat. Arrived ski fields. Nice day with no wind. Taught to snow plough stops and turns on steeper slope and use the tow which is a bit tricky at first. Getting better. After lunch Brad went with more advanced on higher slopes while we kept practising turns and control. Two little kids were skiing with their Mum - one 3 and the other 5 - skiing since 9 months old. Cooked dinner and were going out, but Brad fell asleep and wouldn’t wake up.

Chalet - Blairgowrie - 17/3/82 - nice day here - blizzards on mountain

Woke up feeling very sick and sore throat. Drove up to mountain, but too sick to ski so Brad drove me home and then he went back. Slept till 1 pm and then walked down to town and did some shopping. Got bad earache so made appointment with doctor. Brad came home early because there were blizzards on the mountains so I didn’t miss much. Saw doctor and I have ear infection and flu. Ate takeaway Chinese and read.

Chalet - Blairgowrie - 18/3/82 - cloudy and cold

I didn’t go skiing but read my book while Brad did. He went in a slalom race but didn’t quite finish. He’s getting better at parallel turns. Picked up some photos. Had pate on toast and watched TV. Went to Angus Hotel and had a drink and then bought takeaway dinner and drove to Log Cabin Hotel, Kirkmichael. Having horse races and disco, but didn’t wait for disco. On way home car in front hit a rabbit - stopped to see if OK but it died.
